A south-facing stretch of deep, golden sand, blessed with a balmy microclimate. Pedn Vounder is bliss!

One of the charms of West Cornwall is its remoteness, which comes with the lack you of signposts… does not help that online maps send you in the wrong directions, so here we are to help you find your way down to Pedn:
Start at Treen car park (not the pub car park) and take the path that you see opposite the toilets (don’t be tempted to follow what your mobile tells you and go back on your way..)
Continue along the track past the campsite for another 550m and you will join you up with the Coast Path. Opposite the stone bench, take the narrow path in front of you. Note that it bends a little to the right. After a short walk, a spectacular views of the Cliffs and Pedn Vounder beach will embrace you. Even if you do not wish to continue down to the beach, stop and sit on the big slab and soak in the magnificent view.
After about another 250m, a narrow path on the left winds its way down the Treen Cliffs and onto the beach. You made it! It was worth it: admire the natural amphitheatre of granite cliffs. At one end you will see the iconic headland of Logan Rock and to the West the Minack Theatre and the turquose water of the Ocean in the front of you

Important notes:
- Access to the beach is not easy: the final descent onto the sand involves some scrambling down the rocks.
- There are no facilities or lifeguards on the beach always
- check the tide and look at the water: sometimes a rip current form
Always check the tide times before going to Pedn Vounder. At low tide, a fabulous stretch of flat, coarse shell-based sand appears, stretching over 650 meters. With shallow pools and sand bars, the beach is a Paradise. At equinoctial spring tides, you can walk along the sand to Percella Cove and beyond to Percella Point and even Porthcurno. The beach is not a recognized surfing beach due to the lengthy walk and access, but at low water there is a good beach break that can be fun. It is a dog-friendly beach, and note that some beachgoers prefer not to wear clothes.
