Tides and Sand Conditions:
Always check the tides time before going to Pedn Vounder. At high water, there is often only a small area of beach near the access point below the cliffs known as Daw Zawn. However, this can vary according to the time of year. During some Summer periods, there is more dry sand than others due to greater sand accumulation, while in Winter , the sea usually comes right up to the cliffs.
At low water, a fabulous stretch of flat, coarse shell-based sand is exposed, which stretches from the base of the Logan Rock headland all the way to Carn Kizzie, a distance of over 650m. At exceptionally low spring tides, it is possible to walk along the sand to Percella Cove and beyond to Percella Point and even Porthcurno. A sand bar often appears along the beach at low water, which can create a wide, shallow sandy pool and is one of the attractions of the beach.

Access to the beach is not easy, particularly the final descent onto the sand involves scrambling down granite rocks, which may be too difficult for some. There are no facilities or lifeguards on the beach. Here are some tips on how to get there
